The name of the animal originated from a Spanish alteration of Aztec name “coyotl.” These animals are also called the Brush or Prairie Wolf. The scientific name of the species is Canis Latrans, which means “a barking dog”; the first description of the animal was given by Thomas Say. A coyote snare is often used on a farm where photos are available.
